A desire to make a difference.

Life can be quite the roller coaster. If there’s one thing that being a single mom of two ravenous boys has taught me, its the importance of being able to put nutritious and delicious meals on the table while sticking to a strict budget.

Determined not to waste a penny, I began reading voraciously about nutrition and cooking. I dug through depression-era recipes belonging to my grandmother for frugal ideas and ways to easily make staple food items from scratch rather than spending extra money on ready-made, convenience foods.

It is my desire to share what I have experimented with and learned in the hope that others may benefit.
